NACRC PURPOSE AND MISSION STATEMENT

Mission Statement

To meet the aspirations of the African Caribbean Community in Newham through the delivery of a diverse and tailored range of services that enables individuals to fulfil their potential and organisations to achieve their purpose.

NACRC’s Aims

• To deliver a range of high quality services to meet the diverse needs and aspirations of the African Caribbean community including the provision of one to one advice, information and advocacy to address individual needs; the delivery of education, training. A library and mentoring to ensure attainment within school and employment; the provision of befriending, cultural and social activities to celebrate our heritage and break down isolation and the delivery of health and leisure activities to promote good health

• To ensure that the needs and aspirations of the African Caribbean community are addressed through effective marketing of the Association, by working in partnership with local, regional and national organisations to deliver services at the resource centre and by supporting the growth of African Caribbean organisations and business.

• To provide sustainable and meaningful services through the development and implementation of an annual planning cycle, equality and diversity procedures, effective consultation and participation of service users, training and development programmes for management committee, staff and volunteers and by seeking external verification of our quality infrastructure.

Service User Centred: That our objectives, strategies and services are designed to meet the requirements of those users most in need of our services, therefore ensuring the highest possible standards.

Equality and Diversity: That we actively pursue equality of opportunity by recognising and celebrating diversity within our community and by challenging discrimination throughout our work and expect the same of our service users, and partners.

Quality: That we will provide and assist others to provide high quality services to the African Caribbean community and the wider community with quality being defined by service users and evaluated by the longer term outcomes for individuals.
